You Know It's Real When...
They said they'd be sending me sample pages sometime soon. That sounded exciting. It would be nice, thought I, to see something in progress, something tangible, something real. But then today I got this email from Persnickety, to whom I owe the greatest blast any day has had in a long time. You know you've arrived, you know it's for real, you know they're really serious when you're HERE!

Hi! Well, you made it this far, awesome! Please go ahead and leave a comment, because I love to read them. They validate me, give me a reason for living, that sort of thing (no pressure). Be aware, though, that I can't respond to your comment unless you give blogger your email address, sad but true. So if you have a question, please leave your address so I can answer it directly.
C'mon...write something!
I'd pre-order a copy this instant except I don't know which house I'll be at when it comes out.
ReplyDeletePart of the reason I don't knit socks is that I know, without ever trying, that I'm prone to Second Sock Syndrome. A way to avoid that may be just what I need to try sock knitting.
I wanted to tell you, I picked up a copy of the flyer/publicity thing for the book when I was at BEA. It was one of the coolest book publicity things I've EVER seen -- and I see a lot of them. Your book will definitely find a place in my library. :-)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Congratulations! It's for real, baby!
ReplyDeleteTHANK you all SOOO much! I want to reply to people but blogger does not show me email addresses - which is why I had haloscan - but then that messed up something else...I hope eventually to have things so I can reply to people!
ReplyDeleteSarah, I totally love the thing myself! I really am impressed by what they've done for me, and I adore the whole Storey team! I expected to be schlepping around with books in the back of my car, begging people to buy.
I totally understand your elation---I was at my co-editor's wedding when another guest told us we'd appeared on Amazon! (One wonders why publishers don't tell us these things...)ar
ReplyDeleteYou and I have opposite points-of-progress, though---Carolyn and I know what our pages will look like, but not a hint of cover art.
